The Nest Temperature Sensor is battery powered so you don’t need any special wiring or an outlet to use it. It connects to your 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E over Bluetooth Low Energy and has a range of about 50 ft (15 m) so it should work in most homes.
Google Nest and Google Home. For installation, setup, and control of the Nest Thermostat and any sensors, you need to download the Google Nest app and the Google Home app from the App Store. The Nest app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV and requires iOS 12 or later.
Mar 26, 2021· To reiterate my earlier point, the Google Nest Thermostat is all about automation. You set it and forget it. I plugged in a temperature schedule for my initial review period, and nipped into the app every now and then to tweak it based on my actual life habits (you’d be surprised how tricky it can be to plot out your weekly schedule from memory).

Feb 03, 2021· The Nest Thermostat is pretty dainty, so if your existing controller is larger (break out the tape measure, the Nest's diameter is inches) you'll almost certainly need the trim kit. It's a little cheeky to charge $15 for an oval piece of plastic with a few holes in it and a couple of screws, but hey, that's capitalism for you.

The Nest Thermostat has a separation line between the two pieces of plastic that make up the face of the thermostat (this is not a crack). The main piece of plastic is the main display lens for aesthetics and is an outer layer of finish to the product. The bottom sensor is a PIR Infrared Fresnel lens that allows our sensors to function correctly.
